The Case

RIGHTS REJECTED

SCOTUS decision … gravity

Cruelty, violence, depravity

Fundamental rights rejected

Decision came as expected

Focused Far-Right … this precedent

By Republican presidents*

Fifty years after Roe v. Wade

Women’s health choices now forbade

Pro-choice supporters are now stunned

Trusted life options are now shunned

Female citizens … second class

Reclaim their RIGHTS … they march in mass

Unprecedented reversal

Settled law without rehearsal

Ended expansion … human rights

Target: pregnancies overnight

Half the states within this union

Laws supporting this opinion

Religion spurns democracy

Freedom against theocracy!

When right to life is now forced birth

An unformed zygote has more worth

Yet children are still killed in school

Gun culture over life is ruled

Repercussions, care upended

Healthcare on which most depended

With complicated pregnancies

Lead to death of mothers-to-be

SCOTUS ruling, regressive crime

Women aren’t trusted in their prime

To plan their lives, health, families

Freedom of choice … OUR DESTINY

Access to Abortion Plummets as Effects of Supreme Court Ruling Take Hold.

As more trigger laws banning abortion take effect, the country is rapidly sorting into two —

a half where abortion is still legal, and a half where it is either outlawed or severely restricted.

  • In this democracy, 5 Supreme Court Justices ruled and one abstained re: Roe v. Wade, a settled law of 50 years c. 1973.
  • These justices were appointed by Republican presidents: including:  George H.W.Bush #41 (Clarence Thomas) George W. Bush #43 (Samuel Alito) and Donald J. Trump #45 -3 appointees (Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett).  Neither  Bush #43 nor Trump #45 received a majority of the votes in their elections.  69% of Registered Republicans backed keeping Roe v. Wade!
