TRUMP FOUND GUILTY
Proven … no one’s above the law
Bad actor falls within the jaws ...
Of JUSTICE … court’s sharp tendencies
Reports of Trump’s great felonies
Twelve people chosen for the jury *
Convicted him … causing a flurry
Across the board … thirty-four counts
Within nine hours, this was announced
Historic moment in the news
Ex-POTUS seemed to be confused
Capping extraordinary trial
MAGA party in denial
Trump is their candidate … presumed
False propaganda … long consumed
His third attempt for president
Now shrouded in HIS resentment
Resentment could be OURS at last
Most folks won’t dwell upon the past
Stored memories scanned back in time
Know NOW … Trump’s win came with this crime
Falsified records … bent the TRUTH
We’ve MONTHS before next voting booth
Confirmed … Trump cheated for that win
Exposed now HIS egregious sin
Could he … would he … be elected?
Will Trump … ONCE MORE … be rejected?
Will he be cowered by this verdict …
Possibly use it … and subvert it
His sentence set for mid-July
From now ‘til then … he will deny …
Wrong doing and this conviction
Trump’s campaign without restriction
Word GUILTY … rang within those walls
Thirty-four times … we will recall
At last … Trump’s held accountable
HISTORIC … insurmountable

*Jury service is a means for U.S. citizens to participate in the judicial process.
Each court randomly selects qualified citizens from counties within the district for possible jury service.
The randomly selected potential jurists are sent a qualification questionnaire to be returned to the court within 10 days.
Being summoned to serve on a jury does not mean a person will be selected to serve. Judge and attorneys for both the prosecution AND the defense question each potential juror in a process called the void dire”.
This process typically results in some prospective jurors being excused, based on their answers, without giving a reason.
At the end of the trial, the judge instructs the jury on the applicable law.
While the jury must obey the judge’s instructions as to the law,
the jury alone is responsible for determining the facts of the case from the differing versions presented by the parties at trial.
The Defendant is assumed innocent until proven guilty.
The jury must find the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Quote from the above captioned article: “Donald J. Trump was convicted on Thursday of falsifying records to cover up a sex scandal that threatened to derail his 2016 presidential campaign, capping an extraordinary trial that tested the resilience of the American justice system and transformed the former commander in chief into a felon.
