Law Breaker, Felon

LAW-BREAKER, FELON

As president … Trump is unfit

He’s  had his trial … we’ve done our bit

Watched and waited .. open minded

Listened … evidence reminded

Those in the courtroom’s energy

Aware of justice, synergy

Of questions asked … by the jury

Verdict announced … caused a flurry

FIRST president t’was TWICE impeached

Confirmed JUSTICE was within reach

Now judged fairly … now a FELON

TRUTH from Pecker, Cohen, tellin’

Twelve jurors deliberated

Knowing their decision rated

Understood that Trump was fated

By this maelstrom he created

Randomly selected jurors

Did their job and caused a furor

Of the defendant with his LIES

Trump’s lawyers chose them … they’re despised?

Guilty … as  the TWELVE were counted

As the tension in court mounted

How did each find? … times thirty-four

GUILTY ... GUILTY … those words were scored

Trump sets another precedent

As he campaigns for president

This cheater’s scheme to win BE FIRST

Satisfy narcissistic thirst

PROOF … Rule of Law binds everyone

Judicial system’s not undone

Example set a precedent

Rule of Law for Ex-president

iNSPIRSTION NYTimes essay  entitled:

Donald Trump, Felon.

The former president’s conviction in a New York criminal trial

revealed, yet again, why he is unfit for office.

The Editorial Board, May 30, 2024

QUOTES: from the above captioned Editorial: “The verdict establishes that Mr. Trump committed crimes in hiding pertinent information about himself from the American people for the purpose of influencing the 2016 presidential election. It revealed even more evidence of what Trump is willing to do, including breaking the law and pushing others to break the law for political gain.”

“The former president has never shown much moral rectitude, but the facts presented in the New York trial revealed more information that the public should know about the unethical way that Mr. Trump conducts his life and his business.”

“In the end, the jury heard the evidence, deliberated for more than nine hours and came to a decision, which is how the system is designed to work. In the same way, elections allow voters to consider the choices before them with full information and freely cast their ballots. Mr. Trump tried to sabotage elections and the criminal justice system — fundamental to American democracy.

“Trump tried to sabotage elections and the criminal justice system,  both of which are fundamental to American democracy, when he thought they might not produce the outcome he wanted.

The jurors have delivered their verdict. The voters will in November.”

“Judge Merchan was scrupulous in ensuring that Mr. Trump received a fair trial. He blocked the jury from hearing sensational material from the Access Hollywood tape,. AND, he was also forced to deal with Mr. Trump’s attempts to undermine the legal system, and, to limit what Mr. Trump could say to prevent him from attacking and threatening jurors, witness, court personnel and even the judge’s family.

Only the threat of a jail sentence finally kept Mr. Trump in line after 10 fines for contempt of court.
